Every year holds highs and lows for employees and their company. The challenging times are opportunities to learn from and improve plans in the coming year. At the same time, we think it’s important to celebrate the positive progress each year brings as well. Both are part of a healthy growth pattern. As we get closer to the end of the year, we thought this would be a great time to mention some of our highlights from the year.
Growth in Numbers
Here are just a few stats we are excited to share from 2019.
- Four college students spent their summer in our office. This is the second year Palmer Group has offered summer internships.
- Twenty-four college and career fairs were attended. Palmer Group employees met a lot of wonderful people!
- Ten new professionals started in our West Des Moines and Cedar Rapids offices.
- Four staff members celebrated their 15th work anniversary.
- One director celebrated his 20th work anniversary.
We have met and worked with so many outstanding individuals this year, and we are sincerely thankful for these many opportunities.
Growth in Communication
Clear and positive communication provides strength and unity to any company culture. One area we’ve focused on this year is in our internal committees. For example, we have two committees we started in 2019, the Communications and Giving Committees. A set group of employees met on a semi-regular basis to discuss their agendas and relevant topics.
The Communications Committee focused on understanding more about Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOP) and sharing that information with our entire staff. This team planned special events to help our company learn more about the benefits of being an ESOP company.
Palmer Group believes in giving back to our community. In a conscious effort to support different charities and nonprofits, Palmer Group started the Giving Committee. Throughout the year, the committee invited different leaders of these organizations to come into our office to allow our staff to hear the mission and purpose of the organization first-hand.
Growth in Connections
Every year we put on events for our clients, and this proves to be an excellent time to communicate and celebrate with the ones who make our jobs possible. Whether we watched games in the March Madness season, rode the trails on our bikes, or served endless bowls of chili, we loved getting to spend some quality time those we work with on a daily basis.
We grew our connections even more from a social media standpoint – Palmer Group surpassed 10,000 followers on LinkedIn. This allows us to share our content and services in a greater capacity. Hitting this milestone was a big one for us, and we sincerely appreciate the support we have received from so many.
We didn’t just grow our connections with our clients but our surrounding communities as well. We hosted blood drives, visited our friends at Freedom for Youth and Meals for the Heartland and decorated a Giving Tree for New Chapters. We were able to make stronger connections with the wonderful individuals who run these organizations and became more aware of the volunteer opportunities all around us.
These areas are simply a few of our milestones from 2019. We hope you have experienced your own set of achievements to celebrate (we would love to hear about them in our comments section below). The year has provided growth in numerous capacities for our company, and we are grateful. 2020 is coming, and we are looking forward to all that is in store!
